Drain The Swamp Is So 2016

You haven’t heard much about draining swamps from Trump this time around.

Is it because he did such a good job the first time around? I don’t think anyone believes that. This time it is all about cutting the U.S. budget by using those two budget gurus, Musk and Ramaswamy. One is an immigrant, and one is the son of immigrants.

Musk is an individual that is awash in subsidies from the government. From Tesla to Space X, the entire cost to the US taxpayer is in the billions. Do away with those subsidies, and Trump will have made a big step in cutting the deficit.

You must know that his famous “drill baby drill” remarks are not what Elon would want him to do. So don’t count on Trump doing so. EV is where Musk has made his fortune…on the backs of U.S. taxpayer subsidies. You can pay a lot of civil servants with the Tesla subsidy of billions.

The U.S. space program is now primarily a subsidiary of Space X. NASA does nothing without the Musk approval. And that is even before Trump is in the White House. A year from now, who knows if the government won’t privatize the entire operation and let Musk do all the programing of our satellite and space program including for the military.

Draining the swamp is so 2016. Now it is all about the immigrant. The problem is the MAGA base wants no immigration. That means legal or otherwise period regardless of what an immigrant can contribute to the U.S.

Elon was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada at 18. He received Canadian citizenship through his mother who was born there. He came to this country on a student visa and received his degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Musk then went to California and was supposed to attend Stanford for a graduate degree but never did.

Musk originally had a student visa but once he did not enroll, he was no longer here legally. He claims he transitioned to an H 1-b visa, but there is no record of it. It didn’t take long for Musk and his brother Errol to start a company and sell it for $340 million. It is easy to hire the right lawyers to make your immigration problems go away with that kind of money.

And why would America want to get rid of Musk? While making billions for himself, he has also employed thousands in his various businesses. He is a job creator. And a liberal user of the H 1-b program that hard line MAGA supporters are against.

Which brings us back to draining the swamp. The swamp really does serve a function. As long as the U.S. spends tax dollars to further the use of electric cars and space flight, for example, there will be companies wanting their share of the goodies. To keep good times rolling, lobbyists are needed to make sure the train doesn’t stop. It is as American as arroz con pollo.

And so is being an immigrant who can become a multi-billionaire through hard work and a few subsidies for his businesses. In all probability, Elon broke the immigration laws by overstaying his visa as have so many other millions of immigrants.

The difference is Musk became the bestie of a president and gave him $250 million in political payments during an election while Jacque from Haiti just opened a neighborhood convenience store. Why should we deport either?
