The concept of individual liberty as bequeathed to us by the Founders was never meant to be an excuse for ignoring civic responsibility.

How have we, as Americans, lost sight of what it means to exercise personal liberty and what that right entails. Every ounce of individual freedom we enjoy today is only because of the sacrifice of Americans who came before and their willingness to subordinate their individual needs for the common good.
